If you haven't yet read the first book (If I Stay) then I recommend that you don't read this review as I don't want to spoil anything that happens in it. If you have read If I Stay then it is 100% safe to continue on :)
I went into this book really excited as I had just finished and really enjoyed If I Stay and couldn't wait to find what would happen next with Adam and Mia.
This book takes place three years after If I Stay so quite a lot has happened since then. Unlike If I Stay, Where She Went is written from Adam's prospective which I found really interesting because it gives you chance to find out how the crash effected Adam. Like If I Stay, it does swap from what's currently happening to what's happened in the past three years therefore it helps for the reader to get the whole picture.
I have to admit that I struggled a lot more to get into this one then I did with the first. I think maybe the time difference may of had an effect or maybe it was just me. Let me know if you had this problem below.
At the start I was quite disappointed because it didn't seem to capture me as much as I thought it would therefore, I found the first hundred pages to be quite boring but after that the story really started to pick up and I eventually did find myself enjoying it and then the ending came and just made me fall in love with it. I find that I really enjoy Gayle Forman's endings to books, it doesn't matter whether I had enjoyed the beginning or not because the ending always seem to make me love it in the end.
If you have started this book but perhaps put it down because the first few chapters didn't capture you then I recommend that you pick it back up and push through it because in my opinion that ending and the last few chapters was worth it.
My last blog post was a review on If I Stay so make sure to go and check it out!
