Anticipated December Releases!
Just like last month I'm writing this quite late (it's already the 10th of December - 15 days till Christmas!) and it will probably be posted even later. Despite this I thought I would still do it and hope it will be up before Christmas, haha.
Nexis (Tricksters #1) by A.L. Davroe - December 1st
I was browsing through a Goodreads December Releases list and I clicked on this because the cover was really intriguing to me. I read through the synopsis and it sounded that good to me that I decided to include it in here. It's the first in a new series, which I will definitely be reading (probably next year). Also, the cover is absolutely gorgeous!
In the domed city of Evanescence, appearance is everything. A Natural Born amongst genetically-altered Aristocrats, all Ella ever wanted was to be like everyone else. Augmented, sparkling, and perfect. Then…the crash. Devastated by her father’s death and struggling with her new physical limitations, Ella is terrified to learn she is not just alone, but little more than a prisoner.
Her only escape is to lose herself in Nexis, the hugely popular virtual reality game her father created. In Nexis she meets Guster, a senior player who guides Ella through the strange and compelling new world she now inhabits. He offers Ella guidance, friendship…and something more. Something that allows her to forget about the “real” world, and makes her feel whole again.
But Nexis isn’t quite the game everyone thinks it is.
And it’s been waiting for Ella.
Not If I See You First by Eric Lindstrom - December 1st
I saw someone talking about an arc of this that they'd received and the synopsis really interested me. Since then I've also heard a lot more people talking about it, so I thought I would just include it.
Don't deceive me. Ever. Especially using my blindness. Especially in public.
Don't help me unless I ask. Otherwise you're just getting in my way or bothering me.
Don't be weird. Seriously, other than having my eyes closed all the time, I'm just like you only smarter.
Parker Grant doesn't need 20/20 vision to see right through you. That's why she created the Rules: Don't treat her any differently just because she's blind, and never take advantage. There will be no second chances. Just ask Scott Kilpatrick, the boy who broke her heart.
When Scott suddenly reappears in her life after being gone for years, Parker knows there's only one way to react-shun him so hard it hurts. She has enough on her mind already, like trying out for the track team (that's right, her eyes don't work but her legs still do), doling out tough-love advice to her painfully naive classmates, and giving herself gold stars for every day she hasn't cried since her dad's death three months ago. But avoiding her past quickly proves impossible, and the more Parker learns about what really happened--both with Scott, and her dad--the more she starts to question if things are always as they seem. Maybe, just maybe, some Rules are meant to be broken.
What's Broken Between Us by Alexis Bass - December 29th
Just like Nexis, I hadn't heard of this before until I saw it on a Goodreads list for December YA Releases. I read through the synopsis and I need this book on my shelf!
Alexis Bass’s heartbreakingly beautiful second novel is a tale of love, loss, and learning to forgive, perfect for fans of Gayle Forman and of Robyn Schneider's The Beginning of Everything.
A year and a half ago, Amanda Tart's brother got behind the wheel drunk and killed his best friend. Today, he's coming home from prison.
Amanda's been the one living with the fallout, made worse by her brother's recent unapologetic TV interview. People think he's a monster. Still, she loves him. It's her dark secret, until she starts getting close to Henry again--whose sister is paralyzed from the accident.
A year and a half ago, her brother destroyed his life. Now Amanda has to decide if she'll let his choice destroy hers.
These three are only a small number of some great books releasing in December. There are some really popular books that are releasing that I haven't included (for example *Their Fractured Light (#3)). The reason to why I haven't included books like that are because they are a part of a series, which I haven't read any books of, therefore I'm not really excited about the release if you get what I mean.
Anyway, what books are you excited for this month?
