The other day I could feel a reading slump coming on and that really wasn't a good thing as I had only just came out of one so I decided to pick this up and re-read it and it made me remember exactly why I love this book. It's just so fun and amusing so I thought I would do a review for you guys because I really wish more people would read this series.
This book can easily put you in a good mood which is another reason why I love this book because it doesn't matter whether you're sad or angry as long as your read this book it will make you feel 10 times more happier.
As the title says Harriet Manners is a so called geek but a really quirky one at that. She's socially awkward which I can personally relate to. Anyone else?
I found that Harriet was a really easy character to connect to and I found that I really cared for her as if I knew her in real life. I think that as she was such an easy character to relate to it really benefits the book and helps the plot grow.
Harriet herself is 15 years of age therefore as it's written from her point of view it's voiced as a younger style of YA fiction therefore things tend to be over exaggerated and written in ways the younger generation of today would understand.
This book is the beginning of a 6 book series which is nearly complete. There are currently 4 books out in stores which includes :
All That Glitters
Holly also released a novella for this series as part of World Book Day this year. The fifth book is set out to be released January/February of next year (I think) and she recently released the cover for it and I can't wait to continue with this series.
Overall, this book and series is a really funny read and I really recommend it. If you would like me to do a review on any of the other books in the series then just leave a comment and I would be happy to do it.
