I recently read The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey after being told to read it many times. I managed to pick it up at The Works for only £2.00 so I thought I may as well try it because it cost barely anything.
Anyway, I went into this book feeling really pumped up and expecting a great book to help me get out of my previous reading slump and it didn't disappoint. This book had everything in it : Action, Sci-fi and even parts of Romance. It was brilliant!
I loved that the main character Cassie was a strong independent woman, because recently I've really been liking that in a book. Obviously she had her tough times where she needed help but she never admitted it.
I was hooked from start to finish and the twists and turns of this book kept me wanting to read more and more. I liked that this book was written in different parts which told the story of different characters and that the more you read, the more things connected.
This was the first time I had read anything by Rick Yancey but I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed it and I can't wait to get my hands on the last two books of the trilogy.
